" ... I thought we’d hit our zenith of collective idiocy with the McDonald’s hot coffee lap case. Well, never misunderestimate the power of people to act like morons (and for my money, it’s no act) when they get together.

     Now a California jury wants cigarette maker Philip Morris USA to pay a dead plaintiff’s family 13.8 million dollars because the woman died from smoking.

     Apparently Betty Bullock wasn’t a grown-up, couldn’t read, and had no free will for all the years she smoked.  I was a long-time smoker, but if I'd been on that jury, I'd have hung it out to dry ...."
