BETHLEHEM, NH -- (DP) "She may not be dressed up to get messed up, but her handlers sure are. They blew it."
So says humorist B. Elwin Sherman, who today bestowed his prestigious ELBONE award on the Republican National Committee.
The ELBONE is given to that person or organization who, in the best judgement of the humorist, "is dumber than an elbow." In this case, the RNC collects the ELBONE for its bungling in the Sarah Palin wardrobe controversy.
The RNC spent $150,000 on high-fashion clothes and accessories for Governor Palin, which she now claims don't belong to her, never did, and will be "given to charity" following the Obama/Biden victory next Tuesday.
"Are you kidding? That's more than worthy of an ELBONE," says the humorist. "Why didn't John McCain's co-chair jump in there? Meg Whitman? Former CEO of EBAY? Hello? Criminy cripes, get those Palin pumps and prettywear up on auction! What are they thinking? The Valentino jacket alone would fetch fifty thousand, and I'll bet Meg could still call get a little kickback on the final value auction fees."
He added: "By next week, even an Alaskan thrift store won't want this stuff, but right now there's at least a million bucks sitting there for charity. Dumb. A classic ELBONER."

Maybe she decided not to try, since she didn't have any luck selling her airplane!

Thanks for the comment! Yes, the Ebay airplane sale did go flat, but that was before we'd celebritized Sarah. Put that same plane up now, and offer her services as stewardess on the buyer's first flight.
